Matthew B. Walters
Matt joined Hovey Williams in 2007 following the completion of his legal education. He focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, and trademark clearance and prosecution. Matt’s litigation experience includes patent and trademark litigation, trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and inter partes patent reexamination proceedings.
Matt’s pursuit of client advocacy began in law school where he excelled in appellate advocacy competition. He entered his practice specifically seeking to litigate the complex issues pertaining to all areas of intellectual property law.
Matt continues his interests in client advocacy by volunteering to judge appellate advocacy arguments at UMKC.
