Paul J. Walker

Paul joined Hovey Williams in 2009.  As an associate in the firm’s chemical patent practice, he specializes in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.  Paul maintains particular expertise in the areas of chemical, biotech, and mechanical patents.

Prior to joining Hovey Williams, and while pursuing his Juris Doctor degree, Paul served as a summer associate at Oliff & Berridge, PLC in Alexandria, Virginia.  He also previously worked as a molecular biologist for the United States Geological Survey in Columbia, Missouri for over two years.  In this role, Paul was responsible for designing and analyzing DNA markers in an environmental study concerning Birch Trees.

Paul was originally inspired to pursue a career in law due to his desire for new and ever-evolving challenges.  Today he attributes his success to the support of his family and his dedication and hard work.

Paul grew up in Weatherby Lake, Missouri and currently resides in Shawnee, Kansas with his wife and daughter.  While away from the office, he can often be found outdoors where he enjoys fly fishing, hiking, and photographing nature.
