Brandon focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, with an emphasis in the mechanical arts. He also analyzes and drafts opinions relating to patentability and infringement issues, and provides support for all aspects of intellectual property litigation.

During his engineering study at the University of Kansas, Brandon's longstanding desire to become an attorney intensified when he took part in the design, manufacture, and presentation of a carbon fiber race car for the Formula SAE competition – a process that instilled in him an appreciation for the need to protect intellectual property. While in law school, he worked in the legal department of an international automotive research and design center, helping to enhance and streamline in-house patent procedures. Brandon finds intellectual property law to be the perfect intersection of his interests in engineering, emerging technology, and legal principles.
