Hovey Williams Announces New Partner

Overland Park, KS—The Kansas City area intellectual property (IP) law firm of Hovey Williams LLP is pleased to announce that Jennifer C. Bailey has accepted an offer to become
partner of the firm. Bailey’s promotion to partner is effective January 1, 2009.

Since joining Hovey Williams in 2002, Bailey has focused her practice in the areas of patent litigation and prosecution. Her experience in all pre-trial phases of patent litigation includes discovery, summary judgment motions, claim construction (Markman) motions, and related hearings. Bailey’s prosecution experience includes preparing and prosecuting numerous patent applications in the computer software, electrical, and mechanical arts, and counseling clients regarding infringement, invalidity, and licensing of their patents. She previously served as an associate at the firm.

Bailey is a graduate of the University of Missouri where she earned her Juris Doctor in 2001. She is also a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Tennessee at Martin, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1998. Bailey’s professional memberships include the American Bar Association (ABA), Missouri Bar Association (MoBar), Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA), and the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
