Hovey Williams Attorneys Named Among Best Lawyers in Kansas City®
Overland Park, KS—The intellectual property (IP) law firm of Hovey Williams is pleased to announce that Stephen D. Timmons, Partner, and John M. Collins, Of Counsel, have been named to Ingram’s list of the Best Lawyers in Kansas City®.

Attorneys were chosen as part of a peer nomination process, and Collins and Timmons were selected in the intellectual property category. Timmons began his career at Hovey Williams in 1971 while attending law school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He has extensive experience in all phases of complex mechanical patent prosecution, expertise in agricultural machinery, and significant litigation experience in a variety of mechanical technologies. Timmons is a member of the Missouri Bar Association (MoBar), Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA), and American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
Collins joined the firm in 1972 after receiving his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago. His specialties include patent prosecution, trade secrets, and licensing, and he has extensive experience in IP litigation. In addition, Collins’ current work primarily focuses on extrusion technology, pharmaceutical chemistry, magnetic induction heating technology, and the full spectrum of mechanical and chemical arts. His professional memberships include the Missouri Bar Association (MoBar) and the Patent Group of the Arizona Bar Association.
