Hovey Williams Ingenuity Update

Did You Know? Recent Developments from Hovey Williams

New Policies and Procedures

Hovey Williams is always cost-conscious and strives to provide the highest level of service and value to its clients.

  • In 2008, the firm began billing clients in increments of 6 minutes rather than 15 minutes.
  • The firm often charges flat fees for projects rather than an hourly rate.
  • Our philosophy of steady growth has provided us with a diverse group of IP practitioners having varying levels of experience and billing rates.  This allows lower-billing-rate attorneys to perform tasks that do not require the experience of higher-billing-rate attorneys, resulting in savings to clients.
  • We strive to assign patent applications to the person with the most relevant technical background to minimize the learning curve.
  • Hovey Williams has recently added three patent agents/analysts in an effort to further enhance our overall cost-effectiveness.

Our experience and expertise allow us to focus on the key points of a project without getting distracted by minor issues.  This focus allows us to produce a concise and meaningful work product that addresses only the relevant matters of concern to the client.
