Our History
In 1929, just weeks before the stock market crash that would mark the dawn of the Great Depression, C. Earl Hovey and Roy Hamilton founded Hovey Williams, a law firm specializing in patent, trademark, and copyright law.
Even through these extremely difficult times, Hovey and Hamilton grew the firm into a thriving practice based on long-standing client relationships and exacting results.
Earl’s son Bob Hovey joined the firm in 1956, followed by Warren Williams in 1957. Together, they furthered the firm’s tradition of helping innovative individuals and businesses create and secure their unique products and ideas. Over the following 50+ years, Bob Hovey and Warren Williams, alongside indispensable partners Steve Timmons and John Collins, worked to shape the firm into what it is today.
As the Hovey Williams team looks toward the firm’s centennial anniversary, we are committed to continuing the firm’s foundation of strong values, progressive thinking, and future-looking strategies.
